Heidelberg Canada is to distribute EFI's VUTEk GS series of wide-format printers across the country as part of a new agreement signed by the two companies. The VUTEk GS2000, GS3200 and GS5000r machines will be included in the deal, as will their associated inks, which will be traded under the Saphira brand name.
"Wide- and superwide-format printing are of considerable interest to the Canadian print market, and Heidelberg has the right workflow, colour management, service and consumables expertise needed to integrate these technologies into a print production environment," commets Ken Freek for vice-president, product management, Heidelberg Canada. "Both EFI and Heidelberg are leaders in their respective markets. Together we can bring a best-in-class portfolio to our customers."
Installation, training and other types of customer and technical support will be provided by Heidelberg, which states that it will also offer parts, accessories and upgrades. The company will colour manage the VUTEk printers through its multi-process Prinect Color Toolbox range of calibration, print and proof analysis and ICC profile generation processes.
Heidelberg Canada has 160 staff and more than 25 sales representatives nation-wide.
