A new poster site, located at Scotland's Glasgow Airport, has had its first advertising booking from flight operator Emirates. The JCDecaux Airport-managed display is part of a wider refurbishment scheme underway at the transport hub, and is situated above the check-in desk area.
"The Glasgow check-in domination is a flagship advertising site. We are delighted that Emirates has made this long-term commitment to this important new opportunity in Glasgow," comments Jacqueline McCormick, commercial director of JCDecaux Airport. "Glasgow Airport is the ideal environment for brands wanting to reach upmarket audiences, especially following the airport's current investment in exciting new retail opportunities and the food court."
The new advertising opportunity comprises two 14 x 3m backlit posters, which will have an audience of some 7.2m travellers, JCDecaux states. The first creative to occupy the space, a campaign for Emirates's daily flights from Glasgow to Dubai and Australia, is the second long-term position held by the company at a JCDecaux Airport site – the other being Heathrow Airport's roundabout display.
Laurie Berryman, Emirates's vice-president of UK and Ireland, adds: "This advertising investment further cements our commitment to our Glasgow route and gives us the opportunity to showcase key destinations on our global network to Scottish travellers."
