Printdesigns, based in Stafford, UK, has purchased a Zünd G3XL3200CVE cutter in order to remove a bottleneck in its workflow. The print provider had previously operated a manual cutting process but found it was too slow following the installation of a new EFI VUTEk QS2000 UV flat-bed printer in February 2010.
"When we bought the new flat-bed printer we saw a dramatic increase in output, but found work was grinding to a halt, as we just couldn't convert the projects quickly enough," says Mark Thompson, Printdesigns. "The new cutter has allowed us to increase our channel of work on standard product conversion, such as Opaljet for roller banners and pop-up stands.
"In addition we now have the capability to look at new areas such as point-of-sale display stands and have ordered new products, such as revive Honeycombed Board from Robert Horne for cut-outs."
The Zünd G3XL3200CVE cutter, bought from Robert Horne, can manage materials up to 50mm thick and is designed for 24/7 operation, says the supplier.
