Wide-format printer and ink company Novus Imaging has unveiled a full greyscale, 3m hybrid printer and ink technology, which will be distributed exclusively in Ireland and the UK by Digital Print Innovations (DPI). The announcement was made at SGIA Expo.

Both the Synergia Hybrid printer and ink technology are pending patents but, according to DPI, the new products represent the first and only 'truly green alternative at SGIA'.

"Our printer is state of the art and our AquEpoxy ink technology is unprecedented in the market," says Novus Imaging president and chief executive Kevin Sykes. "Our focus is to bring cost-efficient, environmentally sound solutions to business owners."

The Synergia Hybrid, a combined flat-bed roll-to-roll printer, is available in AQ and UV models. The AQ machine releases minimal emissions and no VOCs, and operates at twice the speed of current printers, says DPI. The UV model is lower cost and can be upgraded in both speed and ink type.

"The UK grand-format market is mature and we needed a distribution partner that would understand not only the product, but the needs of the market and the customers so we are very pleased to be working with DPI as our sole UK distributor," says Sykes.
