Viscom Germany 2011 consolidates previous year’s record show
Oct 24 2011 15:44:41 , 2316

This year’s Viscom Dusseldorf event highlighted the latest trends and new products from the fields of advertising, digital printing, digital signage, outdoor media and PoS marketing.

Over 300 companies exhibited their products and services at the show and 10,700 visitors (a slight drop of 200 on the previous year) attended the event.  Almost one in four of these visitors came from outside Germany.

The organiser, Reed Exhibitions Deutschland, noted that the demand for conventional stand-alone solutions is steadily declining whilst demand for integrated and cross-media design and communications solutions is on the rise.

The Viscom trade fair is designed to showcase creative opportunities and innovative solutions.   Hans-Joachim Erbel, CEO of Reed Exhibitions Deutschland, commented, “That is what makes it so interesting, not only to the classic visitor target groups, but also to a growing number of marketing decision makers and creative minds from the agency world.”

He adds, “Viscom has long since developed from an event with a trade and technical orientation into an event targeting the marketing and retail sectors, end users and the consumer goods industry.”

Many UK businesses exhibited at the event.  Gary Barnes, Fujifilm’s European Product Manager for the Acuity family of printers, was pleased with how the event went and said that considerable interest was shown in Fujifilm’s new Acuity LED 1600 UV printer.  “It was the first European showing of the machine and there was a constant stream of visitors to our stand seeking more information on the new machine.”

Shaun Holdom, Business Manager for Colorific said exhibiting at Viscom Germany had been a great success.  “We received a huge amount of interest in our high quality alternative inks from end users and the fair was very useful in terms of establishing our reseller network in Germany.”

Michael Wartmann, marketing and project manager for Mutoh Deutschland, was also happy with the show.  “We were able to generate high quality leads.  Willingness to invest has increased noticeably [and] we were able to finalise business contracts while the fair was still going on.”

Another happy exhibitor was Bernhard Huber, owner of Superwide Solutions GmbH: “Viscom 2011 was the very first time we presented our 5 metre printer at a trade fair.  We are very satisfied with the response at our stand.  Many visitors were interested in the machine with its large and varied range of uses [including] both large format printing at higher speeds and smaller high resolution products for use at the point of sale.”

The dates for next year’s Viscom event in Frankfurt, Germany, have already been announced and bookings for exhibitor space are going well.  The event will take place between 25th and 27th October 2012.
