Wisconsin Printer Installs Agfa Graphics' :Jeti 1224 HDC FTR UV

Agfa Graphics announces that M.A.S. Industries of Plymouth, Wisc., has installed a :Jeti 1224 HDC FTR UV printing system. M.A.S. Industries Inc. is a large-format screen and digital printing company servicing the P.O.P. market place. M.A.S. Industries supplies sign companies and print shops with various printed materials, including counter mats, window graphics, indoor and outdoor signage, banners and more.

When M.A.S. Industries Inc. started its search for an additional large-format digital press the company had specific criteria in mind to better service our customer: producing higher quality prints with increased productivity. They wanted a machine with the new generation print head technology -- print heads that could deliver small ink droplets in a single pass for higher resolution, but still meet demanding production speeds without sacrificing quality.

"An additional requirement was a press that printed flat rigid material in addition to roll materials. This helps us respond more quickly to special requests, provide more options and control costs, giving our customers quality with versatility at an affordable price. The :Jeti 1224 HDC FTR, with its small ink droplet size, allows us to render high resolution images within our tight production time requirements," said Mike Schwaller, President, M.A.S. Industries. "The :Jeti's head technology also delivers accurate color and reduced banding. At M.A.S. Industries Inc. we pride ourselves in being a leader in color management, and with less ink consumption and low maintenance costs, purchasing the :Jeti was a win-win for our customers and M.A.S.," Schwaller added.

The sturdy, ergonomic design and construction of the :Jeti 1224 HDC features linear motion for precise registration even at the highest speeds. Its advanced, high-strength vacuum table holds both rigid and flexible materials in place, yet the machine's practical configuration means it can be operated by a single user, with fast and simple change-over between flat-bed and FTR roll-fed modes. The :Jeti 1224 HDC was designed for 24/7 operation, but priced to enable smaller display production houses to compete in large accounts with a realistic investment level.

"In the :Jeti 1224 HDC FTR, Agfa Graphics has combined true flat-bed functionality with the versatility of a dedicated roll-fed unit. This unit eliminates the handling and production compromises often found in hybrid UV-curable systems. Absolute consistency is guaranteed in both rigid and flexible modes," said Larry D'Amico, Vice President, Digital Imaging, Agfa Graphics, North America. "Since the :Jeti has the ability to print pre- and post-white ink on a variety of substrates, printers can offer their customers a wider range of products, helping them to become more competitive."

The :Jeti 1224 UV HDC is ideal for display producers, sign-makers, screen-printers and digital print bureaus who need to work with all types of media. The printer's FTR option makes it simple to work with vinyl, canvas, self-adhesive vinyl, polyester-based films, fabrics and papers, as well as typical materials, including rigid boards, foamcore, corrugated and aluminum composites, and wood. Its superior ink adhesion, fine resolution and handling properties enable the machine to be used for special applications and surfaces, such as lenticular, glass and ceramic materials.
