Next year's Drupa printing industry trade fair will include a special exhibition on sustainability called 'Media Mundo @ drupa'. Spread over 200sq m, the area will address relevant subjects such as energy and material efficiency, recycling, corporate management, product design and print as a social medium.

The organiser states that Media Mundo has an emphasis on 'dialogue and participation', with live discussions and presentations from industry members and experts, and lectures streamed over the internet allowing questions to be submitted to the speakers via Twitter and Chat functions.

"The sustainable production of media is not just a sign of responsible behaviour," says Manuel Mataré, director of drupa 2012. "It is both a future model and an innovation motor in equal measure. For this reason, it is important to us that the subject field of sustainability is an integral part of drupa 2012."

Düsseldorf in Germany will host Drupa from May 3rd to 16th 2012.
