Five Castles switches to Fujifilm processless plates

Commercial printer Five Castles has switched to Fujifilm's Brillia HD Pro-T processless plates after deciding not to replace its ageing processor.

Ipswich-based Five Castles, which has more than 20 staff, tested another processless plate initially but switched to Fuji because it was unconvinced with the other competitor's technical support and customer service.

The company, which provides print for customers ranging from national art galleries to local businesses, was a long standing user of Fujifilm's Brillia HD LH-PJE plates supplied by Mayday Graphic Products before it decided to switch to processless plates.

Fives Castles studio manager James Gorniak said: "We asked Fujifilm to demonstrate its Pro-T plate and we were happy with the quality.

"It has a longer life than the other plate we tested and is easier to visually check for errors after the imaging process has taken place. It has enabled us to make a big saving on chemicals and on the studio side we can run the plates more quickly because there is no processor to go through. There is also a slight reduction in make-ready time."
