Digital Plus targets £3m turnover mark following expansion

Leeds-based Digital Plus is aiming to double its turnover to £3m within three years after expanding into new premises and consolidating two smaller units into a new purpose-built operation. The Kirkstall large-format business has spent more than £750,000 on the 750sqm facility that will also house a new Zünd XL 3000 3.2m flatbed cutter following a steady increase in sales over the past 12 months.

According to Chris Stringwell, director at Digital Plus, the 20-staff company can now operate on a single level within the new unit that takes clients "on a journey" through the wide-format production process.  "Previously staff and production were spread over our offices and print shop in Bramley. Now we run our operation from design to production to finishing in one logical process," he said.

The company has also built an exhibition stand set-up that enables clients to visualise their displays from initial ideas right through to full-scale installation. "Businesses in the current climate have to have reliable, value-for-money working partners. There is no excuse for inferior service. We strive to give our clients a consistently superior and well priced service, and in double quick time," said Stringwell.

The firm's new Zünd allows Digital Plus to efficiently finish printed jobs produced on substrates such as aluminium, wood and plastic, work that would previously have been outsourced. The 3.2m cutting table has been particularly effective in the production of its intricate seasonal window graphics for fashion shoe business Moda in Pelle.

Digital Plus was established in 1999. In addition to its latest Zünd XL 3000 it operates two Océ Arizona flatbed printers, including the UK's first 350 XT, three HP DesignJets, a Roland solvent machine and a Xerox DocuColor 240.
