With the help of hardware and software from digital signage technology developer Keywest Technology, Kansas City Zoo has launched a new educational experience surrounding the lives and habitats of polar bears.
The Polar Bear Passage exhibit is using MediaZone digital signage hardware and software from Keywest Technology to display a combination of video, text, animation and graphics in order 'to build visitor interest in polar bears and enhance their knowledge', says Keywest.

"With Keywest Technology-driven digital signage, the zoo can communicate far more information about polar bears in a way that surpasses what could be done with traditional printed signs," says Keywest Technology president Nick Nichols. "The Polar Bear Passage is a great example of how digital signage can complement and enhance the larger mission of any public venue."
Keywest Technology's MediaZone software uses Windows 7 interface to allow Kansas City Zoo officials working on the Polar Bear Passage area to combine content in various media to deliver an immersive educational experience to visitors. Keywest Technology software can run on existing PC computers or the company can supply a turnkey system.
