Horsham-based JR Print has updated its Presstek Momentum Pro workflow software in a bid to improve colour accuracy. The company was already a user of the Vector Rip, and with Presstek expertise has now upgraded to the full Momentum Pro suite, added in GMG's colour management software as well as an Epson Stylus Pro 7900 proofing device with built in spectrophotometer.
Managing director David Want said: "With this new configuration, we know that our printed work will match from job to job regardless of which press we use.
"While ensuring colour integrity was our primary objective, we are also benefitting from faster job throughput and improved productivity which also helps our bottom line.
"This solutions enables us to deliver standardised print across our platform, and we expect that will help us win new work. We are also pleased that the ROI on our investment should be less than two years."
The business runs a two-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster 52 and a Xerox 700 machine and prior to installing the new system Want said that customers would notice a difference in colour when jobs were switched from one press to another depending on run length. "In order to grow our business, we needed to avoid that," he added.
