Nov 24 2011 11:05:36 , 1399

Out-of-home media company Clear Channel has secured a contract with shopping centre operator Westfield Regional, which will result in the deployment of over 100 digital advertising screens.

The 1080 full-HD high-brightness units, designed by Clear Channel, will be installed in Westfield shopping centres in cities including Birmingham, Belfast and Derby, as part of Westfield's move to replace paper with digital advertising options.

Bill Giouroukos, director of operations for Westfield, says: "We have moved our strategy to all digital and interactive and we are pleased to announce Clear Channel will be handling our regional outdoor advertising portfolio, delivering an enhanced experience for shoppers and advertisers in the mall environment."

In addition, Clear Channel has extended its contract with Meadowhall in Sheffield. The two deals will extend Clear Channel UK's digital mall estate by 60 percent by the first quarter of next year, from 180 screens to 288.

Matthew Dearden, chief executive, Clear Channel UK, comments: "2011 marks a step-change in delivering on our digital ambition and the expansion of our successful digital malls portfolio is a critical part of our growth strategy. We are committed to delivering enhanced advertising opportunities to grow our clients' businesses and out-of-home's share of the media marketplace."
