Camvine's pet project comes to fruition with vets' surgery digital signage network

Camvine has launched a new digital signage-based communication service with media owner The VetChannel, with 100 deployments already rolled out in vets' surgery waiting rooms in the UK. More system integrations are to follow, says Camvine, whose cloud-based platform Coda and web portal powers the network.

Users can update their signage with content including practice opening hours, holiday messages, news, weather and traffic feeds, and potentially social media incorporation, says Camvine.

The veterinary surgery-based digital signage network can show content managed by the user via The VetChannel's web portal

"We liked Coda because of the range of content it displays, and because it is flexible, fast and easy to configure," explains Jason Holmes, IT project supervisor at Numed Healthcare, owner of The VetChannel. "A process that used to take two months from content selection to running on displays was reduced to only two days."

The VetChannel needed a solution that could manage multiple kinds of content remotely and that would allow it to continue using its own content creation systems, as well as enable it to move to a customer-controlled, automated network from its previously manual DVD set-up process, Camvine states. The VetChannel chose Coda after evaluating other software products in 2010, the company adds.
