Spandex has reported that hundreds of customers attended its two-day Open House event in Bristol on November 17th and 18th 2011. The Open House highlighted the latest trends and innovations for the printing and signmaking industries and feedback from customers was very positive.
Aaron Marchant of PVL UK from West Sussex says “I liked the quality of information available and the wide scope of products on display. I was surprised at how much was on offer and the staff were been incredibly helpful and informative”
Peter Simons from Peter Lewis Ltd, Surrey contacted Spandex to say “Thank you to all of the team who put on such a splendid programme at the open day. I spent the whole day Thursday with [Spandex] and found a number of new ideas and products for our business. It was also good to be able to spend time talking to the various sales representatives without the usual pressures of being at a trade show.”
Phil McMullin, Spandex UK Country Manager, adds “It’s a pleasure to know that our visitors have appreciated the time they spent with us. The Open House was so rich in terms of new product demonstrations, learning opportunities, displays and new ideas that many visitors came out saying they didn’t know so many solutions were available."
Epson 9700 Prize Draw Winner
Congratulations to Signs Express Chester as the winner of the Epson 9700 aqueous printer worth £3,000. “It’s definitely worth coming to the Spandex Open Houses anyway and winning the prize just makes it extra special. We look forward to using the printer in our new premises which we will open in January 2012,” says Steve Lloyd from Signs Express.
Hardware Demonstrations
Visitors experienced live hands-on demonstrations of an extensive range of printing technologies. Spandex is the exclusive distributor of the latest UV flatbed printers from Durst and SwissQprint which impressed many visitors who also took advantage of promotional hardware offers that were only available during the 2 days of the show.
Suppliers Exhibition
Visitors had direct access to the industry’s leading brands who were exhibiting at the event. Avery’s Vehicle Wrapping workshop was once again very popular. Mactac demonstrated a range of products including their back projection film, GlassMovie; and 3M focused on vehicle wrapping and window film demonstrations. Spandex’s own brand, ImagePerfect had many products in use at their stand, including Wall paper IP2411 and IP2534PA easy-to-use film which enables fast and simple application at point-of-sale by non-professional end-users.
Conferences & Workshops
Another highlight of the event was two conferences delivered by Print Business Growth Coach, Nick Devine on maximising profitability. A range of hands-on workshops including Vehicle Wrapping, Banner Finishing, Display Solutions, Modular Sign Systems, Textile Marking and Gerber Edge Media offered a whole range of new application solutions.
Evening event
The first day of the Open House concluded with an entertaining evening of live music, food and drinks.
Phil McMullin sums up the event “We’re delighted with the number of visitors that attended the open house, a clear indication of the value that these events offer the industry. The attendees commented about the importance of learning about new products and having direct interaction with industry experts. Sign makers and printers can expect an even bigger event next year.”
