Dec 13 2011 09:10:08 , 1424

Philips has launched its newest autostereoscopic 3D display for digital signage, the 42" (1.01m) BDL4251VS, developed with glasses-free 3D developer Dimenco. The LCD display, which uses lenticular technology, will be distributed world-wide by MMD.

The BDL4251VS offers the market's widest 3D viewing angle, says MMD, and 28 lenticular views which allow the audience 'to peek around objects'. It also allows users to alter the display's optimal viewing distance.

The BDL4251VS has already been nominated in the 2012 Technology InAVation Awards, says MMD

MMD is also providing the Philips BDL4251VS as part of a bundle with a media player with pre-installed 3D play-out software, a number of 3D demo clips, 3D creation software trial plugins and a voucher offering a 50 percent discount on content conversion.

"By integrating 2D plus depth to create the most realistic 3D digital signage engine on the market today, the end user is able to create 3D from just about any content," says Wilfred de Man, sales and marketing director, MMD Public Signage Display EMEA.

He adds: "With more and more screens all competing for your attention, this is the one that stands out from the crowd with a deep and truly stunning 3D experience."
