Avery launches Facade Film for paint replacement market
Dec 20 2011 09:49:00 , 1093

The needs of the growing paint replacement market in property maintenance and decoration are the driver for the introduction of new Avery Fa?ade Film by Avery Dennison Graphics and Reflective Solutions. The functional and aesthetic benefits of durable self-adhesive films for both surface protection and decorative effects are making them a practical alternative to liquid paints – indoors and out, on residential and office buildings, warehouses, or other business properties.

Wide choice of colours and finishes

Avery Fa?ade Film is a highly-durable, dimensionally-stable (ie shrink-resistant) cast self-adhesive film specially formulated for architectural refurbishment projects.  To meet the needs of this industry, it is available in a wide choice of standard colours (including RAL, Pantone?, NCS, and BCS colours);  metallic; and in gloss, lustre and matt finishes.  It can also be ordered in custom colour matches – via the Avery Dennison Colour Matching Service – for corporate environments or ‘personalisation’.

Restyle a building overnight!

Since there is no need to wait for paint to dry, with Avery Fa?ade Film, contractors can restyle buildings overnight, ready for next-day reoccupation – delivering savings in time, cost and efficiency, with minimum business disruption for all concerned.  Avery Fa?ade Film is simply and quickly applied in a single layer over an existing surface such as  plastic, aluminium, or coated or uncoated steel.  Says John Coppens, Segment Manager, Europe, Fleet and Architecture, for Avery Dennison Graphics and Reflective Solutions, "The film, with its permanent, long-life adhesive, adheres perfectly, and even conforms over curved and irregular substrates.  Minimum application temperature is 0oC and high humidity is no problem.  The service temperature range is extremely broad – -50oC to +110oC -- so the film will perform both in extremes of cold and in well-heated interiors.  Visually, the end result is a smooth, clean finish which lasts much longer than conventional paint – up to ten years for coloured films, five years for metallics."

Surface protection

Mr Coppens continues, "Avery Fa?ade Film also protects building facades and window frames against decay, fading, erosion, damp and mould ingress, and UV light.   Compared to other fa?ade protection solutions, it offers financial benefits – over 25% -- over the life of the project, in terms of reduced maintenance cycles and costs (cleaning with water and detergent once every six months is all that’s needed.)   What’s more, according to ISO14040, it has a 50-80% lower life cycle assessment (LCA) than paint – an important item on today’s environmental agenda."

Avery Fa?ade Film joins the extensive portfolio of self-adhesive durable films and ancillaries for a variety of challenging functional and decorative applications that is available from the network of Avery Dennison Graphics and Reflective Solutions distributors across Europe.
