PaperCo has broadened its wide-format printer offering after adding the latest HP latex DesignJet model, the L26500, to its portfolio. The new L26500, launched in Barcelona last month, complements PaperCo's existing battery of HP aqueous and flatbed machines. The successor to the L25500 has a 40kg reel capacity and a maximum print speed 22.8sqm/hr, which falls to 6.3sqm/hr in 16 pass mode.
HP's new double-sided printing workflow allied with an Optical Media Advance Sensor (OMAS) on the printer enables double-sided printing with minimal operator intervention. The OMAS controls registration automatically by locating a registration mark when the printed media is reloaded to print the reverse side. The printer is compatible with more than 500 substrates, including HP's new double-sided HDPE reinforced banner material.
According to Charles Eaton, head of marketing at PaperCo, the six colour set enables really vibrant result to be achieved on paper, polypropylene, polyester, self adhesive vinyl and other substrates.
"We envisage a strong take-up from producers of exhibition and display work, point of sale, signage, vehicle wraps and advertising material," he added.
HP's pricing for the L26500, which is shipping immediately, is $24,800 (£15,500).
