Out-of-home advertising company CBS Outdoor has announced it has retained responsibility for advertising sites across the London Underground network, a concession it has held since 2006.
The announcement follows reports in August regarding a dispute between London Underground owner Transport for London (TfL) and CBS Outdoor, which may have resulted in a termination of the contract in March 2012.
CBS Outdoor will continue managing advertising on the London Underground throughout 2012
Graeme Craig, commercial development director at TfL, comments: "Following discussions with CBS Outdoor we have reached a comprehensive agreement that sees CBS Outdoor continue to run the commercial advertising concession for London Underground. We are delighted to be maintaining our long and successful relationship with CBS Outdoor."
Antonio Alonso, CBS Outdoor International chief executive, adds: "We are pleased that our partnership will continue on what is undoubtedly the best outdoor advertising estate in London and we look forward to working closely with TfL and London in the exciting lead-up to the London 2012 Games and beyond."
CBS Outdoor's OOH offerings on the Tube network include around 31,000 poster sites installed at stations, more than 88,000 panels in train cars, and digital signage such as LCD screens, digital panels along escalators, and cross-track projection screens.
