Sihl has announced that it has entered the small- and wide-format coated ink-jet media market. Sihl Direct UK, part of the Diatec Group, has started trading from its site in Altrincham, selling Sihl-manufactured and branded vinyls, films, canvas and photobase papers.

"The Diatec Group has identified the long-term strategic need to strengthen the position of its product and corporate brands to a broader audience," says Ian Turnbull, operations director, Sihl Direct UK.

"We are ideally suited to developing a broad range of popular, high-quality coated media products and delivering cost-effectively solutions to the market."
