Newworks, a Paris-based small- and large-format printer and document management provider, has implemented Enfocus Switch automated workflow software, which performs checks and tasks automatically and returns preflight results to the project manager.

"We evaluated alternative solutions but we opted for Switch because it's very flexible and works perfect with external solutions," says Newworks IT and pre-press manager Christophe Dollez.

Newworks runs its printing operation along with services implementing web-to-print portals and on- and off-site scanning on a 24/7 basis. The company says that before the new software, project managers had difficulty in accurately quoting the time and cost of projects to customers.

"We're very used to managing complex projects with extremely tight deadlines," comments Dollez, adding that Enfocus Switch gives project managers 'a far better understanding of how long production will take and what's involved', which allows them to provide quotes.

Combined with other Enfocus products, Switch has increased productivity and output for Newworks by 'harmonising pre-press procedures, saving time in file processing' and other factors, it says.
