New EFI VUTEk printer for textiles 'eliminates soft signage cost barrier'
Jan 29 2012 14:21:07 , 1019

EFI says it has helped to remove the 'cost barrier' for the production of soft signage with the commercial availability of the EFI VUTEk TX3250r 3.2m fabric printer.

The new VUTEk TX3250r – an evolution of the VUTEk FabriVu – can print directly to textile and transfer paper using fast-drying inks, works at speeds of up to 167sq m/hr, offers a Fast-4 (CMYK) speed for high-volume banner and flag work, and has an eight-colour high-resolution option for high-density back-lit signs.

The VUTEk TX3250r printer is a new production-level solution for fabric printing

"The introduction of the TX3250r should help eliminate the soft signage cost barrier for our customers and enable them to capture the market for soft signage, and flags," says Scott Schinlever, senior vice-president and general manager of Inkjet Solutions, EFI.

"One benefit is the ability to print on textiles, opening new markets for customers while expanding existing capabilities."

A VUTEk TX3250r has already been installed at Indy Imaging of Indianapolis, USA. Its president Robbie Gordon states: "The speed and quality of this new printer outpaces the competition. We can now print 10'-wide [3m] banners with no seams, opening up another market for larger sizes in flags and banners."
