GDL ColourLink announces competition for Sign & Digital 2012
Jan 31 2012 10:30:11 , 860

UK HP preferred partner GDL ColourLink has announced details of its 2012 competition for wide format printers and sign-makers, which will feature in the run-up to and during Sign & Digital UK. The new campaign follows the successful Wild-West themed 2011 search to find the oldest working wide format printer in the UK. The new competition is much simpler and offers three lucky winners the chance to drive a supercar round the world famous Donington Race Track simply by registering their details with them.

The competition has been launched to highlight the speed and accuracy of the HP Designjet range which GDL ColourLink is demonstrating at the show. Two printers will be available for hands-on demonstration at the event - the HP Designjet L26500 Latex printer and the HP Designjet Z-6200. Sign & Digital UK runs from the 27th to the 29th of March and will be held in Halls 3 & 3a at Birmingham NEC.

Graham Baulch, managing director of GDL ColourLink comments, “Last years’ Sign & Digital UK was such a great show for us, we were in-undated with enquiries especially for the Latex printer. Since then sales have grown rapidly due to the printers three key benefits; versatility, ease of use and environmentally friendly ink technology. The printer competes outdoors with low and eco solvent systems on equal terms, whilst also providing high quality indoor point-of-sale and durable textile soft-signage solutions. This unique combination has made it a very successful printer for customers who are using it to access new markets whilst supporting their current client base. Sales of the Latex in the last quarter of 2011 increased dramatically as more customers started demanding more environment friendly solutions.”

ColourLink attributes its increase in sales of the HP Latex printers to the discernable need to produce eco-friendly and completely recyclable prints in addition to an upturn in the market. “The market is definitely recovering and with that, the need to replace older less economical and less environmentally friendly printers has become more apparent,” continues Baulch.  “Our expectations are high for 2012 and anyone involved in indoor and outdoor printing that wants to be reasonably environmentally friendly will need to look at HP Latex technology and we’ll be glad to help them explore these options.”

GDL ColourLink is an authorised HP Preferred Partner and offers 24hr back up and servicing on wide format inkjet printers and associated equipment.

About the HP Designjet L26500

With the introduction of the L26500, Hewlett Packard expands its latex printing portfolio and offers a printer capable of handling a broader range of indoor and outdoor signage applications with improved versatility and durability compared with eco-solvent technology.

Experience easy, convenient printing and win new business from environment-minded customers; the HP Designjet L26500 printer can print on a wide range of materials, including eco-solvent compatible media, vinyl, fabrics, paper, film, and low-cost uncoated options.

The new devices produce 1200-dpi output with outdoor display permanence of up to three years unlaminated or five years laminated for high-quality, long-lasting prints. The L26500 is exceedingly quick - prints are dry and ready to finish or use immediately - the output dries inside the printer, boosting productivity for vehicle wraps and double-sided print jobs, and allowing immediate finishing or use.

The L26500 features the new HP 792 Latex Designjet Inks, producing rich blacks and glossy results on banners and self-adhesive vinyl, and offers double-sided printing capabilities with less user intervention and more accurate, automated registration. Compatible with more than 500 media solutions, including the new HP Double-sided HDPE Reinforced Banner material, HP Latex Inks provide a consistent, reliable performance across a variety of substrates
