Roland DG says its range of proofing and prototyping products 'wowed' the recent Packaging Innovations show in Birmingham, UK, and demonstrated that UV wide-format ink-jet is growing in popularity for proofing purposes. Roland dealer Revolution Transfers represented the manufacturer.

"This is Roland's third time at the show and our brand is really beginning to resonate with the market as the adoption of UV wide-format ink-jet for proofing begins to gather momentum," comments Steve Chappell, business manager for Packaging, Proofing and Industrial Labelling, Roland DG (UK).

"The show was very busy and we got many strong leads because people really are keen to look at new ways of doing things and reduce costs with more efficient working."

Chappell adds that 'the star of the show was the [VersaUV] LEC-540', which says demonstrated its cost effectiveness, bringing 'the price of proofs down from hundreds or even thousands of pounds to just one or two'.

Other products on Revolution Transfers's Packaging Innovations stand included a VersaUV LEC-540 run by the ColorGate RIP, the VersaStudio BN-20, running 3M label media, and the VersaCamm VS-420 print and cut machine with CGS-ORIS Web Tuner software.
