The Baricentro shopping centre in Barcelona, Spain has installed a new range of dynamic digital signage solutions to improve wayfinding and make variable targeted retail promotions available to the 140 businesses the centre hosts.
Spanish digital signage and DOOH solutions provider and operator Alooha replaced paper directories at each of the centre's six entrances with trilingual interactive monotouch screen technologies powered by Digital Engine DE2700 fanless media players by IT hardware manufacturer AOpen.

Eleven digital advertising screens were also installed throughout two floors of Baricentro, powered by AOpen's Digital Engine DE7000 and equipped with facial recognition software for measuring the effectiveness of content and time and place-based promotions.
The installed network of digital signs is controlled and connected using Power Line Communication technologies which communicate digital signage content information via power wire circuits which are able to carry various frequencies. This process eliminated the need for a new or bespoke data network cabling and reduced the project's installation costs.
Alooha operates the network and will continue to focus on designing content that provides advanced, creative services to advertisers, it says.
