Digital enhancement solutions provider Scodix has announced the launch of a fleet of new finishing products at this year's drupa, including ink-jet Braille technology and a patent-pending glittering process.

The Scodix Rainbow Station is the 'world’s first in-house digital ink-jet glittering station', says Scodix, and is aimed at producers of photo albums, marketing communications, premium packaging and other short-run applications such as business cards and wedding invitations.

Scodix will also launch two new digital presses, the S52 and S74, which will print to B2+ (52cm) and B3+ (74cm) sizes respectively. The presses will be capable of printing on to thicker substrates and, with the proprietary Scodix Sense technology, will lay down output up to 250 microns high.

Also using Scodix Sense, the Scodix Inkjet-Braille solution is described as a 'breakthrough in providing materials to the blind and visually impaired'. The technology will be able to reproduce shapes and symbols as well as standard Braille.

"Our mission is to lead print enhancements into the digital age with our commitment and passion to continuously provide our customers, and in turn their customers, with what they need most," says Kobi Bar, Scodix's founder and chief executive.
