As Digital Signage Expo 2012 comes into its last official day, winners of the show's awards for excellence and innovation in digital signage technology and content have been announced.
Digital signage developer Fabrica's Live Windows series for high street clothing store United Colors of Benetton won the Gold Apex Award in the retail category as well as the Apex Award of the Year for which the Gold finalist from each award category was nominated.

digital signage applications at this year's Digital Signage Expo
A number of products from Christie Digital found success as well, including Christie's MicroTiles, used in two Apex Gold Award-winning BuzzWalls - one at the home of American football team the Miami Dolphins and another at the home of the Oscar award ceremonies, the Hollywood and Highland Centre. MicroTiles were also used in the renovation of a flagship Louis Vuitton store in New York.
Scala too was featured in a Gold Apex-recognised project in the food and beverage category for its self-ordering system at German-based Holyfields quick service restaurants which integrated Scala's digital communications software with kiosks to reduce waiting time and 'improve the customer dining experience'.
