96-sheet Prismaflex poster soldiers on to Brecon Beacons

Prismaflex UK has produced an illuminated poster for a 'windswept mountain' in the Brecon Beacons in Wales, to promote the Territorial Army.

The poster was the largest version supplied by Prismaflex, a 96-sheet mesh display that amounted to 3.5 tonnes of equipment when combined with the frame and lighting electrics. When switched on, the illumination spelled out the TA's slogan, 'Do More. Be More'.

Prismaflex explains that the TA's first attempt at lighting the sign was scuppered by unsafe February weather, but was successful despite 'uncomfortably blustery' conditions on the second try.

Tom Weaver, Prismaflex managing director, explains: "This was clearly a big test for the TA but also for us. We knew our posters worked on the high street but we'd never tried to put one up on a windswept mountain before."

Prismaflex completed the work on behalf of Clear Channel. Derek Manns, head of Create at the OOH advertising company, comments: "Clear Channel worked with the TA to provide a special prototype poster designed to withstand extreme weather conditions.

"Erecting the poster in the severe weather was a monumental achievement and will undoubtedly raise awareness for its recruitment campaign. We were delighted to work on such an inspirational campaign."
