OOH media owner Outdoor Plus has unveiled The Spire, a 20m-high digital signage structure using Impact 12 LED screens from Lighthouse Technologies, installed on the A40 in London, UK. The Spire replaces six advertising light-boxes and has shown campaigns for BMW and Nike since its launch.

"This is the latest in a series of roadside advertising installations that feature Lighthouse screens," Simon Taylor, UK general manager, Lighthouse Technologies. "We're delighted that our products are proving to be so popular in such high-profile projects."

Two screens made up of 8 x 8 panels – 6m wide x 9m high – comprise the Impact 12 LED unit, which is fitted on a structure with a base measuring 2sq m.

Simon Grice from Solutions In Steel, which handled the installation, explains the project: "As with all our projects, The Spire was manufactured off site and installed in one piece to minimise disruption to traffic on this busy London artery. The screens were transported to site in two pieces before being crane lifted and installed by our specialist construction crew in just three days."
