Virgin Media's stand at the recent Gadget Show Live featured a Twitter-integrated, Spotify-powered virtual jukebox created by Working Solutions (Creative IT), in a project the company says demonstrates the emerging trend of combining social media with digital signage.
Visitors could tweet their favourite songs to be played on the jukebox, as well as see their messages and Twitter profiles displayed on several videowalls and digital screens on the stand.
Visitors to The Gadget Show Live could tweet their song requests, which would then appear on the digital screens on Virgin Media's stand
The videowalls were powered by Signage2Go software, which monitored Twitter hashtags to identify song requests and compile a list of the ten most popular songs while updating the live jukebox in real time.
"We knew that our new SaaS-based Signage2Go software would help to create an enhanced interactive experience for gadget enthusiasts visiting the Virgin Media stand," comments Neil Farr, Working Solutions director.
"We customised the software to meet the requirements of the Virgin Media brand which provided the team with the flexibility to rapidly update the messages displayed from any computer or device throughout the show."
He adds: "We are receiving more and more requests for social media integration with digital displays and we are delighted to be able to provide a solution."
