Agfa Graphics has integrated the web-based Chili Publisher document editing software into its new cloud web-to-print solution, :Apogee StoreFront. The software will be launched at drupa alongside :Apogee Prepress 8, with which :Apogee StoreFront is designed to work 'seamlessly'.
Designed for the ‘easy creation of online stores’, :Apogee StoreFront uses Chili Publisher as the basis for the software’s Online Editor which allows print buyers to design and edit their own documents. Chili Publisher was chosen because it is customisable for different levels of user, according to Laurens Leurs, :Apogee StoreFront product manager for Agfa Graphics.
"Chili Publisher provides that flexibility along with a set of APIs and functions that we can use in :Apogee StoreFront," Leurs explains. "As one of the early adopters of PDF we also value Chili's support for open standards. This facilitates the automation that we offer between the :Apogee StoreFront web-to-print system and our :Apogee Prepress workflow."
"Our products are designed with maximum flexibility in mind that makes them very easy to incorporate into creative solutions such as :Apogee StoreFront," adds Chili Publish managing partner Bram Verniest. "As a result print service providers can rapidly enhance their service offering with reliable, business enhancing capabilities."
