Global imaging specialist Kodak has revealed a number of new publishing and packaging solutions at drupa this week, and is inviting attendees to hear how its printing products are used by existing customers at its K-Zone live presentation theatre.

The Prosper 6000XL four-colour press boasts 'offset-class quality' of 133 lines per inch (2.5cm) at 304m/min, says Kodak, with monthly print volumes of up to 160 million A4 pages. The Prosper S30 Imprinting System, also making its debut at drupa, delivers 'the highest speed in the industry' at 914m/min and is suited to direct mail, package labelling and other hybrid applications.

Kodak will demonstrate energy-efficient laser engraving for packaging applications with the new Flexcel Direct system at drupa

The Nexpress platform has been enhanced with a 'turbo' mode and gold, pearlescent and neon pink printing effects, while the improved reliability and image quality of the new Digimaster HD digital production systems will replace the Digitmaster EX series. More sustainable offset solutions, including new Sonora plates, the Magnus 800 platesetter and the Achieve all-in-one CTP system, are also being demonstrated. For the packaging market, Kodak is showcasing its Flexcel series of flexographic printing and engraving solutions.

A number of updates to Kodak's range of software, including Prinergy, Insite and Colorflow, have also been announced.
