Print technology developer Memjet has marked its first showing at drupa with a raft of product and strategic partnership announcements, showcasing its 'ground-breaking innovation' with OEMs including Océ, Fuji Xerox and Delphax.

Asia-Pacific distributor Fuji Xerox is partnering with Memjet on a new wide-format solution which will incorporate Memjet's proprietary Waterfall Printhead Technology, which delivers up to 3bn ink droplets per second, offering a quality and speed which the company says is 'unmatched by traditional wide-format offerings'.

Meanwhile, Canon-owned Océ demonstrated Project Velocity at drupa, a high-speed large-format print solution developed jointly with Memjet and capable of printing up to 500 A0 prints per hour at 1,600 x 800dpi.

Xanté's Excelagraphix 4200, the Delphax elan 500, Colordyne's CDT-1600 PC Sprint, AstroJet M-Series printers and Lomond's EvoJet Office 2 and EvoJet Office Pro were among the new Memjet-powered machines launched at drupa. Toshiba Tec will also release a new multi-function office product using Memjet technology.

Memjet also announced recently that its research and development activities, previously carried out by Silverbrook Research, will now be under the company's direct control along with its 4,000 patents and intellectual property rights, with Kia Silverbrook acting as advisor to the board of directors.
