The new HP solutions and features will allow AEC professionals to print large-format from ‘virtually anywhere’.
HP has announced a number of new mobile and cloud-based large-format printing solutions for its HP Designjet systems.
The firm says the new solutions and features will make it easier for architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) professionals to print large-format from ‘virtually anywhere’—an area which has seen much demand recently.
The latest offerings include a HP ePrint and Share mobile app for Android smartphones and tablets, which the firm says allows more users to access, view and print drawings while on the move.
In addition, new features have also been released for HP ePrint and Share, including the ability to print PDF files directly from e-mail and optimisation for the iPad.
The final solution is HP-enabled cloud printing, which is now available directly from Autodesk AutoCAD WS—only available with HP Designjet web-connected printers.
Vice president and general manager, large-format printing business at HP, Santiago Morera, says the firm has released the new solution in response to the needs of the modern day workers.
“Today’s AEC professionals demand easy-to-use mobile solutions that fit an on-the-go lifestyle and make viewing, archiving and printing large-format documents available at their fingertips."
He adds: “HP continues to address these needs by providing the first large-format printer portfolio that lets customers access and print their designs where the job takes them.”
With more people and industries demanding print on the move, applications and solutions such as these from HP are likely to become more popular as more people adapt modern technology.
