Digital Print Innovations (DPI) launches MTEX 3200 digital textile printer

The wide-format distributor said there was nothing comparable to the MTEX 3200 digital textile printer as it launched the machine into the UK.

The East Midlands-based supplier will run demonstrations for the printer, which is available in 1.6m and 3.2m configurations, later this month.

Previewed at Sign & Digital 2012, the MTEX 3200 is now commercially available, for a sub £135,000 price point, configured with inline fixation unit and incorporating a user-controllable vapour extraction unit.

Based on Mimaki's JV5 technology and using Epson DX5 printheads, the MTEX 3200 can print at resolutions of up to 1,440dpi in drop sizes from seven to 21 picolitres.

According to DPI, the machine's integrated fixation unit is set forward of the printer, which it claims eliminates contamination issues such as ghosting.

In addition the distributor claims the 3200's extraction unit stops any oil contamination, so printed fabrics can be finished efficiently saving time, money and energy usage.

DPI managing director Stewart Bell said: "This new MTEX 3200 within its price point is unique.

"There really is nothing quite like it in the market today and those looking to either upgrade their digital textile print capabilities or those looking to enter the market in a serious way should be considering the MTEX."

DPI is booking demonstrations of the MTEX 3200 Digital Textile Printer from 26 June at its Digital Print Innovation Centre, Derby.
