Two Sides promotes sustainability of print

Two Sides is continuing its campaign against the misconceptions about printed paper.

 

Industry-wide initiative Two Sides has announced its latest campaign to promote the power and sustainability of print media.

 

The “No Wonder You Love Paper” campaign will feature advertising in national newspapers promoting the environmental benefits of magazines and newspapers.

 

Two Sides research has revealed consumers are surprised to learn that 70 percent of European paper is recycled, and Europe's forests are a third larger than they were in 1950.

 

Director, Martyn Eustace says the campaign is a much needed one as print 'urgently needed to correct consumer misunderstandings.'

 

He adds: “Our research tells us that magazine and newspaper readers are unaware of the industry’s great record on recycling and that European forests, where the majority of raw material is sourced, are actually growing in size.

 

“80% of UK consumers prefer reading from paper than reading off a screen and we want to let them know the facts about the industry’s record on important environmental issues”.

 

The publicity drive will span the rest of 2012 and is supported by a new website youlovepaper.info.
