Finishing equipment manufacturer Autobond is celebrating its success at drupa with 'a full order book for at least the next six months'. Autobond's ninth outing at drupa saw orders taken world-wide, which the company attributes to the 'robust build quality' of its products.
Autobond showed four new machines at drupa: three laminators, the Micro 52 SD TP, the Mini 76 SD 'Multi' and the Mini 105 TPHS, plus the 52 SUV ink-jet spot UV finishing device.
"Orders have come from countries where you'd just never expect them to be spending," comments John Gilmore, managing director, Autobond. "This week we shipped a machine to Italy, for goodness' sake, with another Mini 105 going there next month."
Autobond's order book includes customers in Iraq, Los Angeles, New Jersey, Australia, Palestine, Nigeria and a number of European countries. "To listen to the news, you'd think there was no money left in Europe, yet we've orders from Bulgaria, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and in England from the smallest commercial printers to the biggest book printers, we have multiple orders," says Gilmore.
"Last week an existing customer in Portsmouth was astounded to find he'd have to wait five months for his new machine."
