Kodak to promote latest Flexcel NX system at the Packaging Innovations Show
Aug 09 2012 09:27:05 , 957

The company will exhibit samples from its Flexcel NX digital flexographic system, at the October show, as well as participate in workshops and panel sessions.

The latest version of Kodak's complete digital plate-making Flexcel NX system, originally launched at Drupa, incorporates the company's Spotless Flexographic software which cuts costs for flexo printers by reducing the need for spot colours.

Kodak said the combined system delivered a much higher quality image and raised the bar for packaging printers.

Showcasing such products and flexible substrate samples at the show, which takes place on 4 and 5 October, would help to demonstrate the firm's 'commitment to customers in the packaging print sector', according to UK Kodak packaging sales director Jonathan Moore.

Moore said the 2012 event, which takes place at London's Business Design Centre, will allow the manufacturer to focus on the needs of brand owners and packaging customers.

He said: "We will be giving visitors an idea of what can be achieved using Kodak’s extensive packaging portfolio through an array of live customer work.

"We promise not to talk about the how and why of production. Instead we will focus on how we can offer our customers demonstrable ‘added-value’ and how we really can do more with packaging."

Meanwhile Kodak has appointed Gill Beard as public relations & social media manager for commercial business in the European, African and Middle Eastern region.

She is tasked with driving commercial business communications for Kodak in the region through traditional both PR and digital media channels.

Beard said: "I am very much looking forward to my new role within the commercial business. With the popularity of digital media and social channels, messaging has to be fast, timely and effective.

"I will be using my experience to work with a blend of coverage in traditional trade outlets in harness with online opportunities."
