ILFORD has announced its plans for the inaugural EcoPrint Europe event which is scheduled to take place on 26th and 27th September 2012 in Berlin. Visitors to the ILFORD Stand (3-318) will learn about the latest steps being taken by ILFORD to further its commitment to sustainability.
Alongside ILFORD's presence at the event, CEO Paul Willems will join the panel of a public discussion on What Print Media Innovations are Available for the Retail and POP Space? on Thursday 27 September from 2 – 3pm, when Willems will highlight how the company’s innovative product range and comprehensive approach to sustainability serves today’s retail landscape. ILFORD will also demonstrate the environmental credentials of its substrates with an Eco Showcase presentation on Wednesday 26 September from 2.30 - 2.55pm.
Elsewhere in the show, ILFORD looks forward to demonstrating the success of its sustainable substrates in the industry with partners including Erler + Pless. The German print service provider has recently begun to offer ILFORD BioMedia products to customers and will print on the media range using HP Latex printing technology throughout the course of EcoPrint Europe. Like ILFORD, Erler + Pless has a well-established history in imaging and has successfully improved its environmental credentials over recent years, through making the switch to latex technology in order to reduce emissions, as well as reducing the environmental impact of the company’s wider business practices.
ILFORD has so far played an integral role in EcoPrint Europe, participating as a founding exhibitor and member of the Development Group that has helped to shape the innovative event. ILFORD CEO Paul Willems is also a member of the EcoPrint Ambassadors, a group of 24 print professionals who are passionate about encouraging and enabling the print industry to adopt sustainable printing practices.
With its BioMedia and OMNIJET ranges, ILFORD has gained recognition across the international Sign & Display market for providing high performance substrates that help to boost the environmental credentials of brands and print service providers. ILFORD takes a comprehensive approach to environmental management at its world-class facility in Switzerland, where tight controls are in place at all levels of the manufacturing process to regulate the sourcing of raw materials, energy consumption, transportation and CO2 emission.
