Durst will use Viscom Italia to unveil the Omega 2, a 'variant' of the UV-curable Omega 1 engine incorporating LED curing.
The manufacturer explains that energy reductions of 'up to 65 percent' could be achieved thanks to air-cooled 398nm-wavelength LED lamps. It has adapted its inks, which retain the same 'technical design', to achieve the same throughput as the previous generation, with the same colour options available.
The technology will improve the 1.6m hybrid machine's performance on heat-sensitive substrates. It is available through the Omega reseller network – including Spandex in the UK – immediately.
