Co-director Chesterman told Print Monthly next year's event will run from the 8-9 October alongside the WAN-IFRA expo
EcoPrint Live organisers are targeting more visitors for the 2013 event following wheat the describe as a ‘successful’ first event.
Almost 2,000 people from 37 different countries came through the doors in Berlin; a figure described as slightly ‘below target’ by co-director Frazer Chesterman, but there was praise for the quality of attendees.
According to most reports, those that did attend came to talk about, and engage with, the sustainability issue.
Major brands such as Coca-Cola, Volkswagen and Estee Lauder were drawn in, in what was a strong effort for a first show in a Drupa year.
Exhibitors reported a number of ‘quality conversations with senior representatives who have the power to implement change at their organisations.’
Co-director, Marcus Timson, affirmed that the event had ‘established a new concept – an event dedicated to sustainability.’
He added: “(It) validated the fact that a focus on sustainability is needed in our industry. This was particularly clear from the standing-room-only conferences and seminars where the emphasis on sharing knowledge couldn’t have been clearer.”
Chesterman did say that the show’s success proved there was a ‘real appetite’ for discussing sustainability in print, and that next year’s show would bring more visitors.
“We’re running on October 8th and 9th, again in Berlin. It will be at the Messe and will run alongside the WAN-IFRA expo, which has around 10,000 visitors from the publishing and print market.
“That helps us both in terms of numbers that will attend but also stretching the visitor profile.”
