HP Scitex FB7600: Increased productivity
HP has announced a raft of new enhancements to its HP FB7600 flatbed press, which increase output by up to 20% across its mid-range print modes.
The machine's POP34 Text mode, which can print 34 beds, equal to 180m2 an hour, can now print up to 40 beds in the same time, while offering improved quality on small text.
Equally, the POP48 mode, offering 250m2 an hour output, can print up to 20% faster thanks to a field upgrade on existing FB7600 models for a "nominal fee".
According to HP Scitex EMEA business development manager Moshiko Levhar, the increased productivity modes reflect the changing behaviour of HP flatbed users.
He said: "Back in 2009, 60% of the volume being carried out on the FB7500 platform was in POP34 mode. This has greatly diminished in the last few years with more than 65% of volume now produced using the POP48 mode.
"FB7600 require increased productivity without a compromise on quality and these new modes help fulfil those requirements."
HP has also introduced an upgraded POP print mode to its Scitex TJ8600 Industrial Press. The manufacturer has boosted output 20% from 200m2 an hour to 240m2 an hour. This is claimed to improve its suitability when printing text, barcodes and items such as QR Codes.
The manufacturer has also revealed that its HP TJ210 Scitex Inks are now Greenguard certified.
Following FB225 Scitex inks, these are the second set of inks to be Greenguard Children and Schools Certified, a certification that helps ensure prints produced using the inks are suitable for use in indoor environments.
HP FB7600 users can benefit from the increased print modes from 15 November while TJ8600 users can upgrade from 1 December.
