The organisers of Graph Expo 2012 are basking in the show's success, with exhibitors and attendees alike singing the event's praises. Many companies reported strong sales and leads, noting an encouraging upward trend.
Arthur Verwey, vice-president of international sales and marketing at Xanté, was especially pleased, saying: "Let's put it this way: we had the worldwide début of our new Impressia digital print system here at 12:00 on Sunday and it was 12:22 when we placed our first order. We have been averaging one sale every 30 minutes, so it has been very, very exciting."
Scodix reports that it handed out more than 2,000 samples every hour of the show, while exhibitors Esko, Diversified Graphic Machinery, Baumfolder and MGI all saw increases in the number of sales leads they gained this year as compared with 2011. In addition, W+D North America has decided to double its booth size at sister show Print 13 as a direct result of its success at Graph Expo.
Print 13 will take place in the same venue – Chicago's McCormick Place – in September next year.
