Roland has added white and metallic silver inks to its Eco-Sol Max2 range for use with its 'flagship' SolJet Pro4 XR-640, which will begin shipping immediately. The additions to the inkset will 'drastically' increase productivity and allow 'superior colour expression', the manufacturer claims.
"The XR-640 that we now start shipping with the new white and metallic silver inks has achieved excellent productivity, almost double that of predecessors in the same class," explains Yohei Shinomura, Roland DG product manager. "In fact, the standard mode of the XR-640 can match the image quality and density of its predecessor's high quality mode. As a result, you can now print high quality large-scale items in a much shorter time frame."
The addition of white and metallic silver inks will help PSPs produce output with 'greater impact and added value', for applications such as decals, labels, vehicle graphics, posters and window graphics, Roland says. The XR-640 also features a refined automated ink circulation system which prevents the white and metallic silver ink pigments from settling, for consistent output quality and a reduction of around 50 percent in ink wastage for maintenance.
