German digital signage solutions provider dimedis claims it will demonstrate the first digital signage software based on HTML5 at ISE 2013, alongside a new wayfinding system. Version 6.0 of dimedis's kompas solution will be the 'main talking point' at ISE, the company says, and 'sets a new standard for the digital signage industry'.

Basing kompas 6.0 on HTML5 could allow more compatibility between different solutions so that digital signage can be integrated as part of a larger campaign, which dimedis says may lead to a 'boom' in DOOH advertising. The new release offers 'seamless' integration with Adobe Edge and makes dynamic content easier to produce and manage across multiple platforms, including online. Kompas 6.0 also enables consumers to use their smartphones as 'remote controls' and 'raises the bar for user engagement'.
