US print house Coloredge has thanked EFI for helping to get the business back on track following damage to its Carlstadt, New Jersey facility during Hurricane Sandy. Coloredge, which also has a number of other sites across the US, turned to EFI to replace several wide-format machines that were rendered unusable by flooding during the storm.
"We have a long relationship with EFI personnel from top to bottom," says Coloredge executive vice-president and chief operating officer Jeb Ball. "When the flooding occurred, we reached out to EFI and asked if they could expedite every part of the new equipment process – from orders to shipments, right through to installations. We needed to be back to full production levels on the fastest possible timetable."
"Once we heard of the request, we immediately authorised it," adds Frank Mallozzi, EFI senior vice-president of worldwide sales and marketing. "I am a born New Yorker and have family back East that was also affected by the hurricane, so needless to say I had total empathy."
Coloredge's chief executive and president Terry A. Tevis also thanked 'the generous competitors who opened their doors' to the company in the days after the storm.
