Peeling says 25 percent of Precision Printing's business comes from overseas

“It was a huge success. The concept is about bringing together like-minded printers through the technology used,” enthuses Peeling.

500 HP Graphic Arts users attended Print United, in Barcelona earlier this month, and Dscoop plans to build on a strong start by creating a global network of digital printers.

He continues: “One of the big draws is that it is now an international network – America, Asia and now EMEA. What that will allow printers to do is to release themselves from the limits of their own facility.

“It will make it straightforward for informal networks to deliver digital print-on-demand solutions globally.

“If we are going to transition large amounts of pages from conventional printing to digital, we have to be able to provide a scalable solution for international businesses.”

Dscoop has already announced plans for a global web-based database of HP users so marketeers and companies can easily find their closer digital print provider.

“A lot of our clients in Europe are interested in exploiting emerging markets and if we're going to support them with print-on-demand contracts we need local production,” says Peeling.

Peeling, also the managing director of Precision Printing, adds: “Its a huge opportunity for European printers. There are a huge amount of American companies who want to provide their marketing and communication model in the same way in Europe

“Building strategic partnerships works – I know that because around 25 percent of our work comes from abroad.”

Peeling also revealed that not only does Dscoop plan to promote the power of print to today's market, it will also embark on a campaign to educate university students on print's best applications.

Dscoop's annual conference will take place in Nashville, USA from 21-23 February.
