3M Touch Systems is looking to extend its reach into the large-format display market with its latest product
3M Touch Systems is set to exhibit a first prototype 46" (117cm) multi-touch chassis display at Integrated Systems Europe this month, alongside its new 32" (81cm) model and a range of dual-touch chassis displays and desktop monitors, the company has revealed.
The addition of a 46" chassis display, the C4667PW, to its range 'extends 3M's Projected Capacitive Technology further into the mainstream of large-format displays', the manufacturer explains. It boasts 60-finger multi-touch capabilties with a twelve-millisecond response time, an ultra-wide viewing angle and a high-definition 1080p LCD display.
The 32" C3266PW chassis can track 40 simultaneous touches with a response time of ten milliseconds, and also features an anti-stiction surface that allows users' fingers to 'glide effortlessly' across the glass while maintaining positive contact, 3M says.
Also on show will be the 21.5" (55cm) and 27" (67cm) desktop displays with 20-finger multi-touch capability, as well as 3M's 15" (38cm), 17" (43cm) and 19" (48cm) dual-touch models designed for kiosk and enclosure integration.
