Advantech is to launch its first RISC-based digital signage player at ISE 2013, the company has announced. The UBC-DS31 will be powered by a Freescale ARM Cortext-A9 i.MX6 dual processor and will have Advantech's SUSIAccess software built in.

Key features of the new player include superior multimedia performance and low power consumption, says Advantech, as well as an 'easy assembly design'. It contains 1GB of DDR3 memory and 4GB of flash capacity, with 2D and 3D graphics built in and supports dual displays at up to 1080p HD resolution. Connectivity support includes gigabit ethernet, WiFi, HSPDA and Bluetooth.
