Roland DG to demonstrate new materials and applications with the DWX-50 milling machine at IDS
Roland DG will demonstrate that its dental milling machine is a truly ‘open system’ at the International Dental Show (12 – 16 March 2013, Cologne, Germany). The DWX-50 is compatible with a variety of milling tools and CAD/CAM programs. Users can also choose from a wide range of materials such as zirconium, PMMA, wax, 3M Lava Ultimate nano-ceramic and the new Vita Enamic.
Roland DG will be exhibiting its solutions for dental labs at Stands L40 and M41 in Hall 3.1. The focus will be on the DWX-50 milling machine designed specifically for milling dental prostheses. It is a compact and cost-effective machine, in which ease of use takes precedence. In particular, the machine offers fully automatic calibration as well as production. Thanks to the automatic tool changer, no further intervention is required after starting the machining operation.
The DWX-50 is equipped with five axes, which can be driven simultaneously. Five-axis simultaneous milling makes it possible to offer additional capabilities such as creating abutments – in addition to making traditional crowns and bridges. Furthermore, this processing method optimises production time and increases milling tool life.
The DWX-50 is an open system. This means that it is compatible with various types of software, milling tools and materials. Zirconium, PMMA and wax are widely used, but the milling of newer types of materials such as composites makes same day restorations a possibility. At IDS, Roland DG will be demonstrating the compatibility of its milling machine with these various materials and software.
