Digital Signage Expo has announced the finalists for its Apex and Content Awards, which will be presented on the opening night of DSE 2013. The Apex Awards, which 'honour innovation in the development and deployment of technology' in DOOH, features 30 finalists in ten categories, while 28 finalists will do battle across ten categories for the Content Awards.

Categories common to both awards this year are: Arts, Entertainment and Recreation; Business, Industry and Government; Education and Healthcare; Event Venues; Food and Beverage; Hospitality; Public Spaces; Retail; and Transportation. Apex Award finalists will also compete in the Interactive Self-Service category, while Content Award hopefuls will have entries considered in the Cross-Platform section.

Gold, Silver and Bronze awards will be presented in each category, and the jury of six independent industry journalists will choose an Apex Award of the Year and Digital Content of the Year Award from the gold winners.
